Assorted Sporks with Music or Musical Sporks by Suburban Discomfort

Assorted Sporks with Music or Musical Sporks is a regular poetry performance event held every four weeks throughout 2026 at Mamma Chen's in Footscray, starting April 9 and running through December 17, each Thursday from 7pm to 10pm. Performers can recite poetry accompanied by a set menu of five tracks composed by George O’Hara (aka Fluxofhumour), featuring moods like Angry, Horny, Sad, Atmospheric, and Beats, or use their own music or none at all. Unlike the regular Assorted Sporks gig, this version is theme-free to encourage open expression. Hosted by Quil Steinberg, the event maintains a safe space policy with no tolerance for hate speech. Wheelchair accessibility is provided at the venue, with stage lift available upon advance request.
