Creative Age

Heide’s Creative Age is a recurring art therapy program designed specifically for people living with early-stage dementia and their carers, running every Thursday from April 23 to December 10, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Heide Museum of Modern Art. Led by qualified art therapist Tanis Douglas, sessions take place in the museum’s gardens, sculpture park, and galleries, using nature-based materials to promote social engagement, health, and wellbeing through nonverbal art. Each 90-minute workshop is adapted to individual needs, fostering interpersonal connections in a welcoming small-group environment. Regular weekly or fortnightly attendance is encouraged for maximum benefit, with bookings strictly limited and entry by ticket only. The program is supported by Manningham Council’s Community Grant Program.
