Little Foodies by Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre

Little Foodies is a weekly hands-on cooking program for caregivers and children held every Friday from May 1 to May 29, 2026, at the Craig Family Centre in Ashburton. Each 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM session follows the Arts and Crafts playgroup, where families prepare simple, healthy recipes like fruit salads and snacks in a mix of self-guided and facilitated activities. The program fosters bonding, builds cooking skills and confidence, and encourages healthy eating habits in a relaxed, playgroup-friendly environment. Funded by Forest Lake Grants, it emphasizes early food experiences that shape lifelong habits. Sessions are free with Craig Family Centre membership.
