Slapdash is a new solo work-in-progress presented by Temperance Hall Front Studio Resident Oliver Savariego, featuring a choreographic collage of movement materials drawn from his dance influences and inspirations. The performance explores tensions in appropriative practices, corrupting choreography through recollection, iteration, and translation, while revealing vulnerability beneath the performance facade. Created and performed by Oliver Savariego with Robert Downie, it lasts 50 minutes followed by a post-show Q&A. The event takes place on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM AEST at Temperance Hall's Main Hall in South Melbourne. As part of the 2026 Front Studio Residency supported by the Neilson Foundation and others, it highlights experimental dance and queer artistic ambition. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and tickets operate on a pay-what-you-can basis.
