Music and Tea at Wag From the Veils of the Morning by Wollongong Art Gallery

The Emerging Artist Concert Series presents 'From the Veils of the Morning' on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30 at Wollongong Art Gallery. Soprano Mackenzie Lawrence, an emerging opera singer studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, collaborates with established pianist and composer John Martin to explore mezzo-soprano repertoire spanning art songs by Hugo Wolf and Sergei Rachmaninoff, operatic works by Rossini and Meyerbeer, and witty pieces from Flanders and Swann and Gilbert and Sullivan. A highlight is the world premiere of Martin's setting of 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree,' blending introspection with exuberance in the gallery's ambient setting. This free morning event, part of a collaboration between the gallery and Inspire Music Australia, includes tea and biscuits, supporting young musicians under 26 through donations.
