Recurrents by Bankstown Arts Centre

Recurrents is a single-day community event hosted by the Multicultural Peers Project, a support network for Queer and Trans youth from Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian, and Muslim backgrounds in NSW. On 9 May 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bankstown Arts Centre, participants can engage in concurrent workshops: Divine Coffee Readings with Nicole Barakat, Warak Arish Cooking Class with Izzi Samaha, and Cultural Arts Workshop with Akala Newman. The event emphasizes reconnecting with cultural circuits amid life's ebbs and flows, held on unceded Dharug land with an acknowledgment of Indigenous healing practices. The venue offers high accessibility with street-level access, lifts, wide walkways, and an accessible toilet and parents' room. Free general admission makes it open to all interested in cultural reconnection and community support.
