This single-day kids workshop, titled Mira-Mura Galing Bila: Singing up the Rain for the River, takes place on 11 April 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Manly Art Gallery & Museum. Led by Dabee Wiradjuri Elder and artist Peter Swain, the session engages youth aged 7-18 in participatory storytelling, collaborative drawing, a stone ceremony with river stones, and exploration of the artist's sand art installation. Participants learn about the cultural significance of water to Aboriginal people and the interconnected relationships between water, land, and life. Part of the Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation workshop series alongside the exhibition The Art of Adaptation: Culture Changes Everywhere, all materials are provided, and parents or guardians are welcome to stay throughout. Tickets are priced at $30 general admission or $27 for MAG&M Society members.
