Gardening And Painting For Community by Flight Path Theatre

Addi Road — Gardening & Painting for Community offers fortnightly Thursday morning sessions starting 23 April 2026 at Addison Road Community Centre in Marrickville, running through to February 2028. Groups of 6-12 volunteers engage in hands-on tasks like planting native flora, composting, weeding, painting walls and fences, and general maintenance to beautify the shared gardens and facilities. Each 3-hour session from 9am to 12pm begins with an introduction to Addi Road's mission in human rights, arts, culture, and sustainability, followed by volunteer work and a guided tour of the historic site. The event strengthens community ties and environmental sustainability, with light refreshments provided and on-site cafes for lunch. Participants should wear casual, dirt-friendly clothes, enclosed shoes, hat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. Note that sessions involve manual labour and lifting, requiring alertness.
