Arts in the Yard by The Lock-Up

Arts in the Yard is The Lock-Up’s monthly hands-on contemporary art program for children and their families, running on the last Saturday of each month from February to December 2026. Held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at The Lock-Up Yard in Newcastle, the sessions invite kids and adults to collaboratively make, think, and experiment in response to current exhibitions. Each workshop features unique themes such as Soft Ground in February-March, COLLECT in April-May, Signals in June-July, and Listening to Water from September-December. Fully supplied and facilitated by trained arts educators, the program is relaxed, drop-in friendly, wheelchair accessible, and operates on a donation basis or $20 for kids under 25 with free entry for accompanying adults.
